TV Content Revolution (source: CNBC)-- TV is no longer just that content on the box in your living room. When it comes to television, every single rule is out the window. . . . Online video services are upping the ante. YouTube is looking to pay stars advances against ads run by. Netflix is up against cable channels and faces competition from more distribution platforms. . . . The TV isn't so simple. Well, you've got the networks and the and the cable companies circling the wagons right now because they don't know how any of this will shake out. What they do know is that most desirable viewers, 18 to 34-year-old young adults are abandoning television and cable in masses. . . . People need to figure out how can they make money on these new platforms instead of fighting these archaic battles over what's the definition of TV. I think consumers are winning and they will win in the end. . . .  I think right now the winner is Netflix. 1 out of every 4 hours that the average American viewer spends in front of the TV set is spent watching Netflix product. . . . I think Netflix obviously is winning because it's disrupting its own game and companies that do disrupt their own game will actually come out winning in this battle. The other companies that are doing really well are companies that create these platforms such as and, Motorola, Samsung, all the companies creating these platforms. . . Google. . . What's different now is that the key viewers that everybody wants to reach are not sitting in front of a television set. They're looking at the internet and IP TV. . . . Companies that risk disrupting their own business are the ones that may get it.
